How ferry schedule changes, weather disruptions, port authority decisions, and force majeure events affect your Andaman travel plans.
Travel in the Andaman Islands depends heavily on sea conditions, weather, and port operations. This Ferry & Weather Policy explains how schedule changes and disruptions are handled for ferry bookings and related itinerary components arranged by Adventure Andaman.
Ferries between Port Blair, Havelock (Swaraj Dweep), Neil (Shaheed Dweep), and other islands are operated by independent ferry companies and authorities. Sailing times, vessel type, and routes may change without notice due to:
Adventure Andaman does not operate ferries and cannot guarantee fixed departure or arrival times.
Operators may reschedule sailings, combine routes, or substitute a different vessel class. Seat categories (economy, premium, etc.) may be adjusted based on availability. We will inform you as soon as reliable information is available and help with practical alternatives.
Andaman weather can change quickly. Activities such as snorkeling, diving, boat rides, and even ferry sailings may be suspended for safety. During force majeure events—including cyclone warnings, heavy monsoon disruption, or natural disasters—itinerary changes, delays, or cancellations may be unavoidable.
Adventure Andaman is not liable for additional costs you incur for accommodation extensions, missed flights, or lost vacation time caused by weather or authority-mandated suspensions, except where specifically included in your package or recovered from suppliers.
If a delayed or cancelled ferry causes you to miss a flight, hotel check-in window, or prepaid activity:
When an operator cancels a sailing, refund or rebooking options depend on the operator's policy and the fare type purchased. Some tickets are non-refundable but may allow future credit. Adventure Andaman will process approved refunds according to our Refund Policy once funds are received or released by the operator.
Access to certain islands, beaches, tribal areas, or activities may require permits or may be restricted by government order. Changes in permissions can affect itineraries. We are not responsible for sites closed by authorities after booking, but we will suggest alternatives where possible.
Refund eligibility depends on the ferry operator's policy and ticket type. We will assist with refund or rebooking options available from the operator.
No. We share scheduled timings provided by operators, but actual operations depend on sea and port conditions.
Sailings may be suspended entirely. Safety takes priority. We will help rebook travel when services resume.
Allow buffer time between ferry arrivals and flight departures, especially during monsoon months.
Private charters may be available subject to weather, permits, and cost. They are not automatic replacements for cancelled ferries unless arranged and paid for separately.
Activity operators usually offer rescheduling or partial refunds based on their policy. Same-day weather cancellations may not qualify for full refunds.
