Child Policy

Child age limits, pricing, activity restrictions, and supervision requirements for families travelling with Adventure Andaman.

This Child Policy explains how children are priced and accommodated on Adventure Andaman bookings, and important restrictions for activities in the Andaman Islands. Specific package quotations may include additional child terms.

1. Age Definitions

Unless otherwise stated in your booking confirmation:

  • Infant: Typically below 2 years (may vary by hotel or ferry operator).
  • Child: Typically 2 to 11 years inclusive, sharing bedding arrangements as defined in the package.
  • Adult: 12 years and above, or as defined by the hotel, ferry, or activity operator.

Operators may use different age brackets. The stricter operator rule applies.

2. Child Pricing

  • Child rates apply only when the child meets age criteria on the date of travel or activity.
  • Child pricing may be available on tour packages, hotels (with extra bed or without bed options), and select activities.
  • Ferry operators may charge full adult fare for children above a certain age or require a separate seat.
  • Proof of age (birth certificate, Aadhaar, passport, or school ID) may be requested at check-in, boarding, or activity centers.

3. Hotel Occupancy

  • Standard room rates usually cover maximum occupancy allowed by the hotel.
  • Extra bed, crib, or rollaway charges may apply and are subject to availability.
  • Some properties do not permit more than two adults and one child in a single room.

4. Activity Restrictions

Many adventure activities have minimum age, height, weight, or health requirements set by operators and safety regulators. Examples include scuba diving, sea walk, snorkeling boat trips, jet ski rides, and parasailing.

  • Children below operator minimum age will not be permitted, even if payment was made in error.
  • A parent or legal guardian must accompany minors where required.
  • Medical fitness and disclosure of conditions may be mandatory for certain water activities.

Adventure Andaman will share known age limits at booking time, but final authority rests with the activity operator on the day of the experience.

5. Supervision and Safety

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at hotels, ferry terminals, beaches, vehicles, and during free time. Adventure Andaman and its suppliers are not childcare providers.

6. Unaccompanied Minors

We generally do not arrange services for unaccompanied minors unless explicitly agreed in writing with appropriate consent documents and supplier approval.
