For visiting Havelock and Neil Island, you have to take ferries (small ship), the ferries which are available are Makruzz, Green Ocean, Bhagya Express, Sea Link and Govternment Ferry. Although Government ferry is the cheapest but advance reservation can be done just 3 days before sailing and there's always a high demand because the local people usually travel by Government ferry and they have 80% reservation too. Book car as per the itinerary

Don't ever book car on per day basis, because most of the places of interest are nearby, with just 10 to 30 minutes time range except Baratang Island and you will not be using the car for more than 2 hours a day, then why pay for 8 hours 80 kms.
