Yes, whether you like it or don't, like any other beach destination, mosquitoes and insects are a major concern for anyone who travels to Andaman and Nicobar islands. The insects, mosquitoes and sand flies are a common feature at some of the beaches. So, you need to carry insect repellents like Odomos, good night or neem oil when you are traveling to Andaman for a holiday with kids.

The beaches in Andaman are pretty safe. Almost all of the beaches in Andaman have lifeguards and areas marked safe for swimming. If you are not sure, always go ahead and ask about the safe swimming zone, if it is not marked. But make sure you protect your child with sand flies. The simplest way is to make them wear full clothes.

Carry Diarrhea medicine and ORS solution in any case. In case of fever and diarrhea, contact the doctor. Heat rash and skin complaints such as impetigo, insect bites and stings can be treated with a well-equipped first-aid kit. There aren't many medical services in Havelock and Neil island. These islands have only basic medical facilities. For anything more urgent and critical, you will have to visit the government hospital G.B. Panth Medical College in Port Blair, that provides basic treatments. Unlike government hospitals in other parts of the country, the doctors attend their duty properly and almost all of them are dedicated. But if your child is suffering from a specific problem, then you must carry all the medicines and the kit. The medical stores are also accessible so you need not worry about it. Still, we would suggest that you try to be the least dependent on the in-house facilities.
