From Surat to Port Blair
Most Surat travellers fly via AMD or BOM — we still start the holiday in Port Blair.
Getting there
Surat is a strong mainland city with a small airport. You may fly from Surat Airport (STV), or you may position to Ahmedabad or Mumbai first. Adventure Andaman does not operate in Surat. We start in Port Blair: hotels, ferries, cabs, listed activities.
STV–Port Blair tickets, when they exist as a through journey, are usually connections. Many families simply drive or take a train to AMD or BOM and fly from there. Either way, airfare is extra unless quoted, and we need the last landing time into IXZ. If vegetarian meals matter, say so at quote stage — see also vegetarian food in Andaman.
No road or railway to the islands. No passenger ship from Surat. Fly — from STV if the routing works, otherwise from AMD or BOM.
Surat Airport (STV) has a limited board compared with Ahmedabad or Mumbai. Check whether your date is a STV connection all the way to IXZ, or whether you are better on the road to AMD / the train to BOM. We will not invent a current STV–Port Blair non-stop.
The Surat–Ahmedabad road is a familiar Gujarat hop. Mumbai is longer but can offer a more useful BOM–IXZ arrival. Pick the mainland gateway for the Port Blair landing hour, not for brand loyalty to STV.
Do not leave Surat at dawn, race to BOM, and expect a tight international-style connection the same morning. Missed hubs are how Surat trips lose Havelock.
Surat station sits on the busy western trunk. It can take you to Mumbai or Ahmedabad. It cannot take you to Andaman. Train-plus-flight is the useful combination.
Read the airport codes on the ticket before you pack for STV.
Send the actual routing, not “flying from Surat” as a shorthand.
Surat travellers often land later than they expected because the day included a road or a hub. We plan day one against IXZ, not against the time you left Ring Road.
Mention meal preferences early so hotel choice on Havelock and Neil is not a surprise.
